How a container from China gets to Ukraine today

Your own container (FCL: 20', 40', 40'HC) or consolidated cargo (LCL) if you don’t fill a whole one. China is our main direction: this is where we have the most solutions and corridors, and none of them transits russia.

Corridors and rail legs — as of 27 July 2026
RouteTransit / service
Japan, Korea, China → Rotterdam → Ukraine31–46 days · direct service via Suez
Far East → Gdańsk → Ukraine48–55 days · direct services
China, Far East, India → Constanța → Ukraine60–70 days · the main entry point instead of the Greater Odesa ports
Gdańsk → Kyiv, rail (UZ Cargo Poland)4 days
Gdańsk → Dnipro, rail (UZ Cargo Poland)5 days

Sea service to the ports of Greater Odesa is unstable and risky because of shelling: lines periodically cancel calls and reroute vessels, and we do not advise building them into a plan for 2026. The working entry points are Constanța and Gdańsk, then by rail into Ukraine.

We give transit times as a range. And the first thing we ask is what date you’ve already promised your buyer.

How it works

What happens after you send a request

Step 1

Reach us however suits you

A form, Telegram or a call. The city in China, the cargo and a rough weight or volume are enough.

Step 2

You get a quote

A figure to your warehouse, a few route options and a transit-time range. If you sent your latest invoice, we’ll go through it too.

Step 3

We ship. Your evenings stay yours

You see the cargo at every transshipment, we forecast demurrage in advance and check documents against a checklist so the container doesn’t sit at customs. The invoice is what we agreed.

Still looking for a supplier or not sure about yours? We’ll find and vet the factory and inspect the goods before shipment. Supplier sourcing in China

FAQ: containers from China

How long does a container take from China to Ukraine?

It depends on the corridor: Japan, Korea, China → Rotterdam → Ukraine — 31–46 days by direct service via Suez; Far East → Gdańsk → Ukraine — 48–55 days; China → Constanța → Ukraine — 60–70 days. Add purchasing and consolidation in China and customs clearance in Ukraine to the sea leg.

What does the full delivery cost include?

Freight from a Chinese port to an EU port, port charges and documents, the leg to Ukraine by rail or truck, customs clearance in Ukraine and delivery to your warehouse. We forecast demurrage and storage in advance. Duty and VAT depend on the goods’ value and the HS code.

Which ports does a container travel through into Ukraine now?

Through Constanța and Gdańsk, then by rail or road. Sea service to the ports of Greater Odesa remains unstable and risky because of shelling, so for 2026 we build the baseline scenario through EU ports: a line can reroute a vessel at any moment, and it is better to plan for it than to learn about it after the fact. UZ Cargo Poland rail service: Gdańsk–Kyiv — 4 days, Gdańsk–Dnipro — 5 days.

How many tonnes can you actually carry in a container?

By specification: 20'GP — up to ~28,200 kg, 40'GP — up to ~26,700 kg, 40'HC — up to ~28,600 kg. But “it fits” is not the same as “you’re allowed to carry it”: a truck on the road is limited by weight control (~22 t because of axle load), while a container from an EU port can travel by rail — and then that limit does not apply.

Not enough cargo for a full container. What then?

Ship it as consolidated cargo (LCL). You pay only for your volume, but the cargo goes through a consolidation warehouse: more handling, and 2–4 weeks longer in transit. The volume at which your own container pays off, we calculate for your specific cargo.

How fast do you quote?
